Puglia...A region of surprises
Puglia has only recently arrived on the holiday maker's map, with many realising the natural beauty of its landscapes and the wealth of fascinating towns with Greek, Norman and Saracen influenced architecture leading up to the magnificence of the Baroque cathedrals to be found in Martina Franca, Lecce, Trani and many other towns nearby.
The food is all encompassing with fresh seafoods of all sorts either available to buy to cook at home or to eat in the many superb and reasonably priced seaside restaurants. Vegetables, meat, cheeses and all other kinds of foods are available fresh in the daily markets.
The wines of Puglia are renowned, particularly for the reds from the Salento in the south and northern Puglia, but also not forgetting the refreshing whites from Locorotondo and Gravina in Puglia.
