Puglia...A region of surprises
Puglia is a glorious region in Southern Italy blessed with a rich history and a tremendous culture of wine and cuisine. With nearly 500 miles of coastline, Puglia boasts crystal clear waters and picturesque shores for swimming, sunbathing, fishing and snorkelling. Here you can still find an authentic Mediterranean way of life, a beautiful corner of Italy, as yet undeveloped by international tourism.

Perhaps Puglia is most famous for its unique "Trulli". These tiny houses have conical roofs made of dry stone with a white capstone and often painted with mystic symbols. In the town of Alberobello, the trulli have survived in such numbers that they have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site.

You cannot fail to be seduced by the wonderful produce that the region offers. Puglia is bursting with sweeping plains filled with beautiful olive groves. Some of these date back many hundreds of years and is plainly evident from the ancient and intricately twisted trunks of the trees. Known as "green gold", the olive oil from Puglia is rich and distinct. The wines are another unmissable produce and have in recent years achieved international acclaim, in particular the Primitivos and Negroamaros. And then there is the food!! The vast majority of the produce is grown locally and is essentially organic. This combined with the abundance of fresh seafood and old recipes dating back hundreds of years make Puglia an irresistible place for food lovers everywhere!
